Eugene Eisner, MD

Dr. Eugene Eisner has practiced ophthalmology in Miami, Florida since 1974 and takes pride in providing his patients with the highest quality of eye care. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his residency program in Ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and became board-certified in ophthalmology in 1973.

Dr. Eisner practices general ophthalmology with a special interest in laser vision correction, specifically PRK and LASIK. In 1997, shortly after the Food and Drug Administration approved the excimer laser, Dr. Eisner became certified by VISX to perform laser vision correction procedures for the treatment of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

After starting his private practice in Miami, Dr. Eisner became a voluntary faculty member at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute; a position he holds to this day. He is a member of the Dade County Medical Association, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and the Miami Opthlamologic Society, of which he is a past president.

Dr. Eisner served as the chief of ophthalmology at Baptist Hospital from 1992 thru 2001. Beginning January 2002 thru December 2003, he served as Vice President of Baptist Hospital medical staff. He was President elect January 2004 thru December 2005. Currently, he is President of the medical staff serving two terms, January 2006 through December of 2009.
