Over the past several weeks, we have been working hard at CEEC to create an extremely safe environment for seeing patients in the era of COVID-19.  The Center for Excellence in Eye Care’s Baptist Medical Arts Building office is open for ophthalmologic consultations from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.  Our West Kendall Office remains closed.

We have made considerable changes to the office to maintain safety and social distancing, which includes removing the majority of the waiting room chairs and limiting the number of patients seen in the office each day.   All physicians and staff will be wearing masks and gloves at all times to protect the patients.

Anyone entering the clinic will have their temperature checked and will be screened on the phone prior to arriving, again in the lobby of the building and as they arrive to the clinic to ensure no one is exposed to anyone who may have the virus. Additionally, the entire office is being thoroughly cleaned multiple times a day and each room is being cleaned between patients. We will also require all patients to wear some sort of mask to protect others in the office. It is our goal to get patients in and out in less than an hour.

Besides these safety measures we implemented, we are asking that each patient please come alone unless assistance is absolutely needed, or the patient is a minor. If you have family or friends riding to the office with you, please have them wait in the car until you are finished.

We are also offering our existing patients live video visits or telehealth calls with our providers. This is a quick and easy way for you to connect with your physician via a live video visit using a smartphone, tablet or computer.

With all of these safety measures in place, we feel very comfortable providing care for our patients.
