Jack L. Gabay, MD
Originally from New York, Dr. Gabay graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then went on to earn his medical degree from the State University of New York in Buffalo, New York. He completed residencies in internal medicine at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore in 1983 and in ophthalmology at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York in 1986. Currently, he holds board certification status in both ophthalmology and internal medicine.
Dr. Gabay is a founding partner at CEEC since it’s inception in 1996. During that time he has served as a corporate officer for many years including serving as its president from 2010 to 2017.
Dr. Gabay has served on the board at Surgical Park Center Ltd. for many years, finally serving as Chairman of the Board from 2006 to 2015.
Currently, Dr. Gabay serves as Section Head of Ophthalmology at Baptist Hospital of Miami, a position he has held since 2005.
Dr. Gabay specializes in cataract surgery and offers his patients custom intraocular lenses and laser assisted cataract surgery.
His expertise includes surgery for pterygium, offering a highly effective procedure to remove these growths and lower the chance for recurrence.
A notable experience for Dr. Gabay, was to join his colleagues from CEEC on a sponsored mission trip to Peru in 2016. There, Dr Gabay and his colleagues performed 90 surgeries on an underserved population in northern Peru.
Dr Gabay also has an interest in neuro-ophthalmology, as well as complex medical conditions that affect the eye.
Dr. Gabay is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Dade County Medical Association, and the Miami Ophthalmological Society.
